Thicket blends creamy white wool of Cottage Hill Farm's Merino-Dorset with a touch of natural black Dorset from Wellscroft Farm to create an all-natural, tonal heather. The combination of softness and durability in these undyed wools brings the best of both worlds together into one skein.
Thicket DK works up at a versatile gauge for lighter-weight garments that are equally cozy, yet suitable for those seasonal transitions when daily weather and temp fluctuations have us playing guessing games (always, always bring a sweater). It can be worked on anything from a US 3 (3.25mm, D-3) through a US 7 (4.5mm) with beautiful results. Fabrics will have a lot of character and warmth, but without a lot of weight, making it suitable for anything from baby garments, to cabled sweaters and hard-working accessories. Its heathered characteristics remind us of a favorite, well-worn sweatshirt, in woolen form. Pure comfort.
