Dyed and spun in Harrisville, New Hampshire, this yarn was engineered to wear well with every wash. Shetland refers to the size of the yarn and not the fiber content. The wool is a blend of an Australian fine wool and a hearty New Zealand wool that gives the yarn it’s luster.
This yarn is spun more tightly on the spinning frames (higher turns per inch) so it is highly durable and will wear well year after year. Great for weaving lighter weight scarves and fabrics. An excellent choice for tapestry weft. Makes for cozy, lightweight sweaters and hand-knit accessories.
