Saturday, April 25th - 2:00pm to 5:00pm
Skill level: advanced beginner - students should already have a general knowledge of weaving on an inkle loom or similar set up.
This class is for anyone who wants to add another feather in their inkle weaving cap. We will start with how to read and design beautiful patterns on paper then move on to warping and weaving. We will go over how to secure the start and end of bands especially for bookmarks and other small projects.
We will be using Euroflax sport weight linen and wool yarn. All materials can be purchased at Portfiber for under $20, but students can bring in yarn to work with, too. Choose fingering weight wool yarn to hold double or DK weight wool yarn to hold singly. Please have materials balled and ready to work with. If buying materials, please arrive 30 minutes early to purchase and wind yarn.
Please bring:
- Wool yarns leftovers in fingering weight or DK (fingering will be held double) unless purchasing new material at Portfiber.
- inkle loom and shuttle. We also have looms available to rent for $21/week.
- 20 heddles
- Paper and pen for notes
Instruction will include:
- Reading and designing patterns on paper
- Warping
- Weaving
- Securing the start and end
Class Cancelation Policy:
If you cancel more than 30 days before the beginning of your class, we will offer you store credit in the amount of your class. Cancelation with less than 30 days notice will result in the forfeiture of your entire course fee. However, if we are able to fill your spot, we will offer store credit in the amount of the class.
If we cancel a class, you can choose to receive a full refund or store credit.
