Saturday & Sunday, August 19th & 20th + Sunday, September 3rd
For students who have taken the intro class or for newer weavers looking to build upon their foundational knowledge. In this class, we will explore different weave structures while creating small samples with a variety of yarns. Each student will wind a warp for a particular pattern and will dress one of the shop looms. Students will have a chance to weave a small mug rug or mat on each of the looms, round robin style. This is a great way to get a feel for different looms, work with a variety of yarns, and explore color and pattern on a small scale. We will review skills learned in the beginner class: making the warp, warping the loom, reading weaving drafts, etc.
Please bring: scissors, a measuring tape, pencil + notebook, and a lunch.
We will meet for a weekend intensive and then once more two weeks later to learn how to finish your pieces. You will need to come in and work on your loom outside of class time - an estimated 10-15 hours. Please note that normal shop hours are Wednesday-Saturday, 11am-5pm.
Class times are as follows:
Saturday, August 19th from 9:00am-5:00pm *1 hour lunch break
Sunday, August 20th from 9:00am-4:00pm *1 hour lunch break
Sunday, September 3rd from 9:00am-11:00am
Cost is $435 and includes all materials ($70 value) and use of the shop looms ($42 value).
Class Cancelation Policy:
If you cancel more than 30 days before the beginning of your class, we will offer you store credit in the amount of your class. Cancelation with 30 days or less notice will result in the forfeiture of your entire course fee. However, if we are able to fill your spot, we will offer store credit in the amount of the class.
If we cancel a class, you can choose to receive a full refund or store credit.
