Ray Cooper

Ray Cooper has been a textile artist for over 40 years, starting as a weaver, and then expanding his textile interests to include spinning, knitting and dyeing.  Ray began studying shibori in 1996, and has studied with some of the foremost practitioners of this form of dyeing, including Ana Lisa Hedstrom, Joan Morris and Yoshiko Wada, the author of 2 of the definitive texts on shibori.  In 2004 Ray was Yoshiko’s TA (Technical Assistant) in a shibori class taught at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts.
