Using Quince & Co. Lark yarn (a 100% wool & made in the US), we'll learn the basics of how to prepare natural dye baths with mordant shortcuts, dye safety and tricks for color blending & over lapping colors to create beautiful color depth. You will end up with uniquely dyed samples to take with you to your next class at Knitwit the following Saturday.

Day 2:  Saturday, April 26th; 10:00am-12:00pm

In the second part of the class we will take the yarns you dyed with Rachel and turn them into a pair of fingerless mitts that show off your choice of natural colors.  The mitts are knit flat and seamed so you only need to know how to knit, purl, cast on and bind off to complete this project.  You will also learn how to knit in your ends as you go so that you don’t have to do a lot of weaving at the end.

Materials:  Naturally dyed yarn, size US 6 knitting needles, tapestry needle, small scissors

Cost is $110 and includes all materials.
